This dirt track will take you from Mount Isa to Duchess. In it’s heyday, Duchess was a thriving town of around 2000 people. It was an important railway and mining town.
Today - the population stands at two. Two very important people who keep the pub fully stocked and the beer extra cold for happy wanderers to drop in for a coldie and chat
The image is taken with a drone, and shows the culverts from the track to help divert water from the road after rain, with the smattering of trees and shrubs - the road itself almost looks like a tree.
